Zahra Taghipour received her BS in Solid State Physics in 2008 and completed her first M.S. in Photonics in 2012 in Iran. She joined the Krishna group at the University of New Mexico (UNM) in 2014 and received her second M.S. in Optical Science and engineering in 2016. During this time, she was awarded the 2014-2016 fellowship from the Cancer Nanotechnology Training Center (CNTC) at UNM. Zahra completed her Ph.D. in Optical Science and Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Krishna at UNM in 2018. Her thesis focused upon investigation of vertical transport study of type-II strained-layer superlattice (T2SL) infrared detectors using electron-beam-induced current measurements.
Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the Ohio State University. Her research focuses on modeling, design, fabrication, and characterization of T2SL infrared detectors.
